Image description: In the dawning twilight of this summer evening, the illuminated sandstone of Dresden's "Frauenkirche“ contrasts wonderfully with the blue shades of the sky.

Background story: "Stairway to Heaven" was the first shot of my premiere photo tour, which led me to Saxony in the summer of 2017.

Right after the 6-hour drive, I explored the old town of Dresden and was deeply impressed by its wonderful baroque and renaissance architecture.

With the "Frauenkirche" I had a particularly great motif, but it took me quite a while to find a suitable shooting location. In the end, I chose the staircase at the "Verkehrsmuseum" (Museum of Transport), since it not only allowed me to get a tourist-free image, but also contributed to the composition of the picture. Once satisfied with the fine-tuning of the camera position, I was able to fully enjoy the beautiful architecture, the awakening lights of the city, the classical music of the string quartet playing nearby, in short: Dresden‘s evening vibes.
